Real Madrid’s striker James Rodrigues has been deemed as being surplus to requirement by the Spanish team and as such might be allowed to leave over the summer.

Indeed, the player has only managed to make 31 appearances this season most of which have come as substitutes.

It is believed that Manchester United is one of the clubs that might be interested in signing James Rodriguez over the summer. The Red Devils are looking to bolster their attack as they look for players that will allow them to challenge for the Premier League title. This season they have shown an overreliance on young players such as Rashford as well as Martial, and they will want to have a more seasoned striker to lead their line.

However, the English team might face opposition from Juventus. Indeed, there are media reports that the Italian club might be interested in signing the Colombian international as they seek to strengthen their strike options ahead of the new season.

It is believed that Juventus already held a meeting with the player and that they have already opened discussions with him over a possible move in the summer. There are reports that James Rodriguez has already put his Spain home up for rent, and this has strengthened rumors that he might be leaving in the summer. Real Madrid wants to believe that they can still beat Barcelona in the title race. This will start by winning the Classico on Saturday night at the Camp Nou

However, things will not be easy especially with Real Madrid having failed to register a league win at the Barcelona ground since 2012.

With Barcelona having beaten Real Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier in the season, Real Madrid will be keen to take revenge for this defeat.

Gareth Bale has insisted that beating Barcelona is feasible, but they will need to show a positive attitude on the pitch. They should not go there thinking that they have already lost the game.

Indeed, Real Madrid is currently doing well having registered 4 wins in their last 4 win game. This is their best streak with their current manager Zinedine Zidane and will be hoping that they could continue this run on Saturday. Their last defeat came against their rivals Athletico in February.

Real Madrid has suffered injuries to key players during the recent weeks and now with Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema back in full training; they will want to make up for their recent points loss. Bale and Benzema have been working hard during the international break and would want to be in contention for a starting place in the team to face Barcelona. Carlo Ancelotti’s relationship with the players has come under questioning of late, as fans get increasingly tired of the poor displays from the team. The Italian is widely expected to be sacked at the end of the campaign even if results do improve.

It would be in line with the tradition at Madrid, as the likes of Vicente del Bosque and Fabio Capello were sacked even after being successful immediately after arriving. Ancelotti remains the most successful Madrid manager in recent history after he helped the club win the much elusive 10th European cup only last season.

After having already lifted two titles this season, the former AC Milan and Chelsea manager has been criticised for being too soft with his players. The team has been going through an individualistic phase over the last few months, as the objective of team effort appears to have gone through the window.
