Pogba wants to come to Real Madrid

Paul Pogba has apparently told Real Madrid’s manager Zinedine Zidane that he wants to play for Real Madrid.

It is believed that discussion has already started with the French midfielder, but Real Madrid is still awaiting a decision from Juventus.

Indeed, there is fear for the Spanish side that Manchester United may make an improved offer to the Italian club and thus rule them out of the deal. There are reports that Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward is preparing a £100m offer to try and convince Juventus to sell them the midfielder.

Manchester United is prepared to spend a lot of money this season so as to provide Jose Mourinho, a team that will allow them to win trophies again. The England side has been underperforming these past seasons, and there are mounting pressures from fans for the club to invest in players.

Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that he wants Paul Pogba in the team next season but the Real Madrid’s board fear that they could not compete with the Manchester United financial power. The only advantage that Real Madrid has is that the player has made it clear that he wants to play in Spain rather than return to England. Indeed, Paul Pogba is a former Manchester United player and has experienced a poor spell in England before. It is unlikely that he would want to return to a team where the fans have criticized him.

Real Madrid wants to believe that they can still beat Barcelona in the title race. This will start by winning the Classico on Saturday night at the Camp Nou

However, things will not be easy especially with Real Madrid having failed to register a league win at the Barcelona ground since 2012.

With Barcelona having beaten Real Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu earlier in the season, Real Madrid will be keen to take revenge for this defeat.

Gareth Bale has insisted that beating Barcelona is feasible, but they will need to show a positive attitude on the pitch. They should not go there thinking that they have already lost the game.

Indeed, Real Madrid is currently doing well having registered 4 wins in their last 4 win game. This is their best streak with their current manager Zinedine Zidane and will be hoping that they could continue this run on Saturday. Their last defeat came against their rivals Athletico in February.

Real Madrid has suffered injuries to key players during the recent weeks and now with Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema back in full training; they will want to make up for their recent points loss. Bale and Benzema have been working hard during the international break and would want to be in contention for a starting place in the team to face Barcelona. It has already been revealed and confirmed that Rafael Benitez was the man that was selected to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the managerial position of Real Madrid.

Rafael Benitez is optimistic about his future as the coach of the Spanish club. The new coach of Real Madrid said that his team is capable of lifting major pieces of silverware and winning every single match.

The 55 year old Spanish manager spoke during his presentation as the new coach of Real Madrid and said: “The team must be competitive, capable of reaching the end of the season with chance to win trophies. The Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey are our objectives, as Madrid must win each game. Can we win it, sometimes yes, sometimes no, as this is football. But the idea is to try and win from the first game, that is what I inherited here, regardless of the competition.”

Every time he was asked about the changes that he is planning to do with the squad and on who will be signed, Benitez evaded those questions as Benitez continued talking about how important and big it is for him to become the new coach of Real Madrid.

The last major piece of silverware that Rafael Benitez lifted was the Champions League and this occurred back in the 2004-05 season when he was in charge of Liverpool.

After Benitez finished his managerial stay in Liverpool, he has gone to: Inter Milan, Chelsea and Napolo where he has managed to win a number of different titles such as: FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Europa League and SupercoppaItaliana just to name a few. Carlo Ancelotti’s relationship with the players has come under questioning of late, as fans get increasingly tired of the poor displays from the team. The Italian is widely expected to be sacked at the end of the campaign even if results do improve.

It would be in line with the tradition at Madrid, as the likes of Vicente del Bosque and Fabio Capello were sacked even after being successful immediately after arriving. Ancelotti remains the most successful Madrid manager in recent history after he helped the club win the much elusive 10th European cup only last season.

After having already lifted two titles this season, the former AC Milan and Chelsea manager has been criticised for being too soft with his players. The team has been going through an individualistic phase over the last few months, as the objective of team effort appears to have gone through the window. Fernando Torres, that’s the name which is being repeated on a more consistent basis than anything else in Spain and in the supporters and players of Real Madrid as the Spanish forward found the back of the net on two occasions which was enough for Athletic Madrid to claim the victory and eliminate their rivals from the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid managed to tie the match 2-2 with goals from Sergio Ramos and C.Ronaldo but it wasn’t enough as the aggregate scoreboard was 4-2 in favor of Athletic Madrid.

The Spanish forward made a move to Athletic Madrid on a loan deal which runs up until the end of the season and things have started out in superb form as he helped his childhood club on advancing through the next stages of the Copa del Rey where they will be facing off with Barcelona.
