CRUYFF DISMISSES REAL MADRID

Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has said that Real Madrid are always looking for excuses instead of actually fighting for the title. Real Madrid lost the opportunity to maintain the 10 point advantage over Barcelona in the league, as they drew back to back games against Malaga and Villarreal. Hence, they are commanding advantage at the top of the table over Barcelona has been reduced to just eight points, with the game against the current champions at the Camp Nou still remaining for Real Madrid. Following the draw with Villarreal in the midweek action, José Mourinho was sent off along with a few other players for Real Madrid.

Following the match, Real Madrid manager José Mourinho expressed his disappointment at not being able to get the decisions in his favour. Now, Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has hit back at Real Madrid by saying that they should learn to get along with the decisions given by the referee and cannot complain too much. He also termed Madrid as ‘sore losers’ after their unwillingness to take the bad decisions on the chin. It is an extremely tough situation for Mourinho, who is for the first time, leading Barcelona in the league. Madrid have the opportunity to get the title from the clutches of Barcelona after three seasons.

“Madrid are sore losers looking for excuses. Against Malaga and Villarreal, they did not do any worse than when they played against Betis or Rayo Vallecano. They won matches when they did not deserve to and they drew matches when they had everything to win. It is just that simple. Nowadays, Madrid either win or they are left angry. There is no middle ground,” Cruyff said in his column on the El Periodico de Catalunya. There are only 12 matches left in the Spanish league.
