Carlo Ancelotti relation with Players comes under Scanner

Carlo Ancelotti’s relationship with the players has come under questioning of late, as fans get increasingly tired of the poor displays from the team. The Italian is widely expected to be sacked at the end of the campaign even if results do improve.

It would be in line with the tradition at Madrid, as the likes of Vicente del Bosque and Fabio Capello were sacked even after being successful immediately after arriving. Ancelotti remains the most successful Madrid manager in recent history after he helped the club win the much elusive 10th European cup only last season.

After having already lifted two titles this season, the former AC Milan and Chelsea manager has been criticised for being too soft with his players. The team has been going through an individualistic phase over the last few months, as the objective of team effort appears to have gone through the window.

Even during such times, the goals from Cristiano Ronaldo helped Madrid get away from danger. The Portuguese superstar has been suffering from a goal drought of late and it has allowed Lionel Messi to overtake him in the race for the Golden Boot award. Ancelotti has responded to the criticism by saying that he feels that he is not too soft with his players.

“The relationship with the players is what’s most important, it matters a lot more than the one with the president. If there is no good feeling with the guys, you are a dead man.Someone calls it friendship, but I simply call it respect, although I like to laugh and joke with them. The intelligent people know when it’s time to get serious.Whoever says I am too soft angers me, because it is not true. I didn’t use any kind of strategy,” said the Italian about the club’s poor form.
