Tough Week For The Robinson Family; Koren Cut, Brother Jailed

This has been a very difficult week for the family of Koren Robinson.

First, Koren Robinson was cut by the Green Bay Packers. Substance abuse problems contributed to the former 1st round pick's downfall. Separate DUIs led to his release from the Seahawks and then the Vikings in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

After seemingly proving he was a reformed man in Green Bay, Koren didn't get his chance to prove himself in the 2008 season. Though there's no evidence that he hasn't been anything but clean while with Green Bay, he'll have more questions to answer as his brother, Tariq, was arrested for trafficking ecstasy and is being held on a $75,000 bond.

Police say there has been no evidence that makes them suspect Koren was involved. Except that Koren owns the house in which Tariq lived.

Let's get this straight. A well-known football player buys a house for a family member and it's later found to be the site of criminal activity. And then the football player denies any knowledge of any wrong doing. Consider this defense the Vick Method. It's not very successful and it will cause everyone to point the finger at you, but it's the path other football players have chosen.

Maybe Koren will be the football player that truly didn't know what was going on. Considering the past history of Koren, don't fault us for pessimistically questioning the knowledge he has of the case.

Koren Robinson is currently an unrestricted free agent. Although there have been several teams rumored to be interested in him, he has had no visits scheduled.
